The Hive began as a response to a simple but powerful need: ensuring that children and families have access to the support and resources necessary for success.
Over the years, The Hive has evolved into a trusted community center that provides educational opportunities, workforce development programs, wellness initiatives, food assistance, and a welcoming environment for residents of all ages.

Meet The Founder
Vivian Saunders
Vivian Saunders is a lifelong advocate for children, families, and equitable access to opportunity.
She founded The Hive after witnessing firsthand the challenges many students face in traditional educational settings. Inspired by her own son's experiences, she recognized the need for a supportive environment centered on literacy, dignity, and care.
Over the decades, Vivian has dedicated herself to helping families access educational support, meals, transportation, internet access, and a safe place to grow and thrive.
Through her leadership and vision, The Hive has become a home-away-from-home for countless individuals and families throughout Bertie County.
